This is a one-of-a-kind museum that houses miniatures of the BEST company's buses and trams, and a collection of old bus tickets and old photographs of buses from when they were introduced to Mumbai. The center of attraction is a classic Daimler double decker bus chassis exhibited right in the middle of the museum. It also has bus staff mannequins and city gas lamps to give visitors a glimpse of some aspects of old Mumbai during the time it was brimming with the advent of modern transportation.
The students were engaged in a guided tour in their native language about how public transportation in Bombay evolved from trams and buses to even EV double-decker buses. They could identify with these vehicles, making the experience even more memorable for them!
Two officials at the museum encouraged the students to understand the electricity and fire department of the city who are our unsung heroes! They had scaled, interactive models of smoke detectors and other such safety measures like metal detectors which assisted the students in understanding the procedures of these systems.
As always, we gave the children interactive notebooks to take home with their experience!
